Returning Client – Spain Scouting Trip, Family Ski Vacation & Move to Spain

Amalia Maloney Del Riego from Move to Traveling, has planned a few trips for me now. She is an exceptional travel planner. She also helped me find long term housing in Spain for myself and my two dogs. She found long term student housing in a separate city for my son. She is multi talented. The most recent trip was during Christmas and involved several people coming from different parts of the world for a few days to tour Granada and culminated with a ski trip in the Sierra Nevadas.

She found excellent accommodations for us. But, a few weeks prior to the trip there was a leak in the apartment and the manager called her to let her know that it would not be available. No worries, she had other options very quickly. We ended up staying in a hotel that was closer to the lifts and not much more expensive. She scheduled ski and snowboard lessons for all of us. She arranged the lift tickets and storage for our gear. The trip was fantastic! She also made reservations for us for Christmas eve and Christmas day dinners. All of the food was outstanding.

In Granada she made suggestions for dinner and breakfast, all of which were stellar. She knows the good little places. She also arranged a phenomenal tour of the Alhambra in Granada that was unforgettable.

Our family truly enjoyed this trip of a lifetime. Amalia has planned other trips for us too, that were just as wonderful. We are grateful for her attention to detail and focus on follow up. She does not leave anything unanswered. I will continue to use her services in the future and I recommend you do too!

Amalia, from Move to Traveling, recently planned an incredible trip through Spain for my family. The trip had multiple purposes. First, it was a graduation trip for my son’s college graduation. Second, it was a scouting trip for me to move to Spain. Third, it was a trip to meet my other son in Barcelona, who was finishing up a semester abroad. Another great trip! We just returned home from Andalucia, Spain, which Amalia planned for us. Córdoba, Granada, and Sevilla were the main stops. She also helped us with a mid-trip change so we could extend our stay in Granada. Off the Beaten Path Exploring Extremadura, Spain

My husband and I are experienced travelers and have always preferred to make our own travel plans. That has changed now that we’ve traveled with Amalia’s help. We just returned from a terrific trip to Spain, in the Extremadura region. Our goals for the trip were to experience and understand Semana Santa festivities and immerse ourselves in the area’s history and culture. Working with Amalia we were able to achieve and exceed both!

At least half of the places we stayed and things we did we would not have found if we weren’t working with her. She really understood our travel preferences and made reservations and recommendations accordingly. From fine hotels with amazing views and VIP perks, to medieval castles, palace accommodations, Roman ruins, museums, charming small towns, a private tour of her mom’s art studio, and excellent restaurant picks, we enjoyed every moment – despite the rainy/cold front that hung over half of the trip.

As if that wasn’t enough, all of the details of our trip were neatly organized in a mobile app that Amalia updated as plans changed. She made and confirmed reservations, helped us cancel a bike tour when the weather was crappy, and was available on WhatsApp if we had questions or changes to make.

We’ve already engaged Amalia for another trip this year and plan to use her services in 2025 when we go back to Spain. We just completed the most amazing two week adventure to South Africa and Zimbabwe that Amalia helped us plan from start to finish. Southeast Asia Tour & Sailing with Friends

Amalia organized an extensive trip for four of us traveling to four countries in Southeast Asia. None of us had been to any of these places so we were unsure of where we wanted to go. In addition, the four of us were in different countries so there were numerous ZOOM calls over about ten months. Throughout many, many changes on where to go, how many days in each area and what to do, Amalia stuck with us, providing ideas and information. When we finally came up with a plan, we asked Amalia to provide us with hotel options based on our budget, location and style of property we were looking for.

Amalia researched the different locations and gave us three options for each area. Had we not liked any of these, she would have been happy to provide other options. But in every case, we had a hard time choosing an option as they were all spot on. During our travels, we were more than happy with each of the choices we had picked. This was the approach she took for the excursions and activities that we were interested in. She gave us options based on her extensive research which made selecting activities very easy.

Amalia also provided ground transportation and transfers for every leg of this complicated trip. I can not stress how valuable this turned out to be. You arrive in a foreign country, not sure of how the system works, or how to get to your next destination, whether that was a hotel or a train station, and every time, there was someone waiting for us to handle all the details and get us safely and timely to our next destination. Pretty amazing even for us seasoned travelers. I can not recommend Amalia enough. She was throughout professional, kind and kept us all on task as she often needed to do! Tour & Sailing Throughout Southeast Asia with Friends

We have just returned from a four country, multi-city, five-week tour to Southeast Asia, including visits to Bangkok, Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, Hue, and Hoi An. The last leg of our trip began in Phuket, where we boarded a 40′ catamaran and sailed for nine days, visiting some enchanting, secluded spots only reachable by boat and unspoiled by tourism. And the person that brought all the details together to ensure a wonderful adventure was Amalia at Move to Traveling. We started with a rough schedule and wish list of places to visit. Multi-Country, Overlapping European Trips for Kayaking Team & Family

Amalia planned an amazing trip for our kayaking team. We had 4 athletes and 2 coaches traveling across 5 countries in Europe to train and compete in slalom kayaking races. She ensured that we had lodging and transportation at each of the locations. She did extensive research for each location to ensure that the lodging was close to the training center and that the lodging was also close to sites, activities, restaurants, and cafes. My wife and I had an extraordinary opportunity to consult with Move to Traveling for 30 minutes via Google Meet video (although other chatting options like WhatsApp, etc. are available). We discussed our initial thoughts/concerns for a scouting trip within coastal Spain and France along the Mediterranean in search of a location that’s a good fit for us in retirement living as expats.

Amalia, the owner, is so positive, a joy to work with, and she made us feel like we were on the right path – which was reassuring.
